Family with Quinn
Our Beautiful Addition
Quinn Ellie Randall is finally here! I woke up about 5 am and got ready for work. Between 5 and 6 am I had 3 contractions, but I didn't think anything of them. They were light and doable. I went to work and my contractions continued. At 10:00 am I went on break. I was counting my contractions and they were every 5 minutes apart and had been for the past hour and half. I finally asked my boss if I could go home. They laughed and some thought I was kidding when I told them I was in labor and needed to go.
Jesse was at the store at the time so we quickly went home, cleaned, packed and called Amber: our wonderful friend who was going to watch Bennett until my mom got there. Finally at about 11:30 I checked into the hospital. I made my goal and I hadn't cried yet. Close, but I was holding strong.
A dose of morphine later...I was waiting for the what I call the "drug doctor" I was having contractions and I didn't care. It was great. The only problem with that is you only get one dose per hour and the medicine only lasts about 15 minutes...LAME. about an hour and half passes and the wonderful drug doctor comes in to does me with the epidural and then gives me a boost.
My doctor wasn't there so Doctor Norda comes in a few minutes after the epidural kicks in, I was so numb that the doctor had to tell me when to push. 3 contractions later Quinn was in my arms.
She is beautiful. 7 lbs. 10 oz. of wonderfulness. Dr. Norda said we should name her Mary Poppins because she is "practically perfect in every way."
So Sleepy
